Several Questions related to dual booting.

1) I have a good idea of what dual booting is but can someone clarify what it is just so I am sure?



2) How do I go about dual booting?



3) Is it as easy as restarting and you can start up in the secondary OS?





My reasons: I want to (if I have the right idea) partition my 500gb hard drive to have about 50-100gb for a ubuntu dual boot along with my primary win 7 partition. Is this feasible? And again is it as easy as stated in question 3?
