I have an annoying issue with my iPhone 3GS and my dlink 615 router. I frequently am unable to connect to the internet even though my phone has a connection to the router. My phone will stay in 3G mode until I either wait 30 seconds or force the phone to search for 3g networks- at which point the wireless kicks and I get internet connectivity. Its almost like the phone defaults to 3G until I interrupt the cell network - allowing the wireless to kick in.

What does it say in Settings, Wi-fi? Is Wi-fi always on or do you only use it when you are close to your network?

is the phone fully updated? Tried turning Wi-fi off and back on?
