Mini DVI to DVI adaptor - dynex or apple brand?

Is it worth $30cdn for the apple brand? Or will the dynex one for $18 do? I would buy it from monoprice for $10 shipped but i need it sooner than 2 weeks. Im in Canada.

fyi- i dont believe that a mini dvi to dvi adapter will work for the laptop in your signature

Mini Display Port to DVI is what you need. Same advice applies re. it not needing to be Apple though.

Mini display port to dvi? oh didnt even know there was such thing as mini display port.



EDIT: $35 for dynex mini display port, ridiculous! $40 for the apple one. And let me guess i need a dvi cable to go from the cable to the monitor?

Yeah I just checked and all the unibody Macbook Pros are definitely Display Port.



I just did a web search and turned up an all-in-one cable for 14 (UK), not sure what that translates to in Canada, but you can avoid having to buy an adapter & cable and just get a cable with the right ends

Are you sure mini DVI wont work? I was told this should work. Only $15!

No, that's mini DVI. It's a totally different connector. I didn't think enough about what your laptop had when I originally answered, but you definitely need mini Display Port to DVI.

Ah ok thanks. Looks like the link i posted above is the wrong product description ha.



My monitor doesnt have HDMI, only DVI and VGA. So I guess i have to get 1 DVI to DVI cable and the mini display port to DVI apaptor. Right?
