I have been tasked with connecting my wired 4 port Thomson ST546 to a D-link DWL-2100ap. I know i have to connect it to a Switch and i was given the Netgear FS608 to do so.
1. is it possible to connect these in such a way so that i can enjoy the wonders of wireless internet
2. if so HOW do i do such?
Thanks in advance
Greg

You should be able to plug it directly into a port on the st546. Those 4 ports are a switch. You should only need another switch if you run out of ports.
Your only tricky part to getting the AP to work with the router will be to assign it a address in the same subnet as the router. You have the option when you configure the AP to select any ip you want and it is only used to manage the AP. You will seldom need to log into the AP once it is up and running.

I was able to set the wireless up now and I can pick the signal up on my laptop but my mothers laptop which is the MSI wind U100 cannot.
I was downloaded the wireless drivers and then reinstalled them to no avail. I there something special I have to do to get that to work?
Thanks
