I put all my pictures onto a dvd just incase something happened to my pc, well they went on the dvd as a slide show, can anyone tell me how I can get them back or look at them as a snap shot again please.

Those pictures on the DVD are just files, they are not stored in any 'slide-show' or other order except they will be displayed in Explorer alphabetically.

What creates the slide show is the software you then use to view the pictures. You don't say what software you are using, but most modern software will offer choices of how to select/display images.
