Reply 1 : Mint 11 - May Release
I really liked Mint on my old netbook as it reminded me of Windows Xp.(Not sure why.) What's new on it?

Gnome 3.0 and some UI changes basically just a more refined version of Mint.

Do you happen to know the release date or if it will be towards the beginning or end of the month?

I love Gnome 2 but maybe should start playing with XFCE. Gnome 3 seems to be a nightmare and having just spent the afternoon in a Natty live cd with Unity, this whole movement to make a computer's interface into an Android seriously sucks!
/rant
I trust the Mint devs to do the right thing...

Linux Mint 11 "Katya" to use GNOME 3
Linux Today - Linux Mint 11 "Katya" to use GNOME 3
"Linux Mint Founder and lead developer Clement Lefebvre has announced that the next major release of his Ubuntu-based Linux distribution will feature the GNOME 3.0 desktop environment, which is expected to be finalised on the 6th of April. According to Lefebvre, unlike Canonical's Ubuntu, Linux Mint 11, code named "Katya", will not use Unity, instead opting for GNOME 3 "using a traditional desktop layout" without the GNOME Shell."

Sorry, I meant gnome shell. So basically almost no changes what so ever. Linux Mint 11 will use the existing gnome panel and the like.
